France (Day 2)

Père Lachaise Cemetery - the largest cemetery in the city of Paris, France & reputed to be the world's most-visited cemetery.
I loved all the doors - so ornate and done with care.
Jim Morrison's grave at Père Lachaise Cemetary.

Place de la Bastille

Place des Vosges - the oldest planned square in Paris

Notre Dame de Paris (French for Our Lady of Paris) on the Île de la Cité
One of the stained glass windows from the inside. Each petal on the flower means something specific. In the center is Mary with the Child.
Huge, daunting, beautiful.
Gargoyle overlooking the city - note the Eiffel Tower on the right side of the horizon.
One of the original bells (not used anymore).

We also went shopping (for me) on a street recommended by my friend, Danielle. Rue de Rivoli had two clothes shops that she had visited. I bought two sun dresses  for a reasonable price. :)
At the end of Day 2, we went to a small restaurant and took a pizza to go. We are sleeping very well because of all the walking and the sun. I got a  little burned because I forgot sunblock on my chest. oops!

  1. Nice trip. Good photos. How many memory cards do you have? Good capacity? Bring home some more pictures of buildings that use flying buttresses (I saw one of your london pictures with them). Is there much of a difference in the French arahitecture? Shops and street scenes? People pictures? Don't mean to sound bossy (moo!). Great blog.
